While out watching the sunset on Lake Harriet one night, I looked up and noticed these seagulls and a plane arriving in Minneapolis converging from my perspective. I began following the birds and firing off shots in the hope that I could get a shot like this.

While out waiting for the the sun to rise over Lake Superior, the sky lit up with this majestic orange for a few seconds just before the sun peeked out and created a real-life Rothko. I had been worried that I was not going to get much of a show since there were few clouds in the sky. Luckily, I had patience and did not give up on the morning.

On a rainy night, I noticed the neon reflections from on the wet road and stopped admire it. When I looked at the photo in my view finder, the lines on the moving car made me think there was something wrong. Only later did I realize they were due to the flickering of the neon that is imperceptible to our eyes.

I had to take this photo a few times to convince myself that there was nothing wrong with it. The way the sky and the lake seemingly merge into one enhances the symmetry of the shot.
